Lillian Machivenyika is a development expert with over 20 years of experience in leading and coordinating sustainable agriculture projects, capacity-building programs, and quality management systems for various stakeholders in Zimbabwe and beyond. She has a Bachelor of Business Studies from the University of Zimbabwe and a Masters in Development Studies (dissertation level) from the University of Free State.
She is the Founder and Executive Director of Cluster Agricultural Development Services (CADS), a non-governmental organization that aims to improve the livelihoods of resource-poor communities through indigenous knowledge systems and sustainable technologies. She successfully implemented more than 20 developmental programs funded by different donors, such as the EU, FAO, USAID, Australian AID and IFAD while playing an advisory role in developmental goals for Government ministries, civil society and private sector partners.
Ms Machivenyika has a strong background in quality management systems, having worked as a consultant for Sharpoint Consulting and a researcher for SMEs. She designed and implemented ISO standards, HACCP, and business development strategies for various SMEs, while acquiring relevant certifications in participatory research and extension, food processing and marketing, lead auditor training, internal auditor course, flow of financial information, and project planning and proposal writing. She serves on the boards of several organizations, such as Zephaniah Phiri, Mother of Peace, Amaranth institute America, NEWHAN, and Vision Ability Zimbabwe.
